I've been working away on my novel edits that are due next week. I'm barely halfway through and only have a few days left. Actually, nights, because I have my day job! I've learned sketching helps.
One of the issues I've had trouble with is pinning down my main character's outfits. She is a vintage fashionista and even though I can see her outfits and accessories in my head, I was having trouble translating them through my keyboard. This is where I unleashed my crafty side.
I sketched her outfits! Every time I come up to a scene where her outfit is supposed to make an impact and I don't have time to search through Polyvore or through magazines, I sketch my vision. It is much easier and faster - and more fun too!
